What are our Industry Tours?

Great question! They provide a unique opportunity to learn more about the inner workings of the host business, including requirements to serve the industry. Attendees discover the impact of advancing technologies and view first-hand the initiatives that have been implemented to improve operations. It is also a great way to develop relationships with potential business partners. 

Each location is chosen to highlight their innovative processes, unique business model, or share best practices.

Sahd Metal Recycling is a third generation scrap metal processor in Columbia, serving industry with rolloff container service and the community with on site recycling and usable metal buying services.

Our people are our greatest asset and we aspire to live a growth mindset doing our part to help improve sustainability in our community.

Tour participants will have time to network with our group and each other over breakfast and then learn about all the various aspects of metal recycling, what happens to your scrap when it leaves your facility and our role in preparing it to be melted down to create new products.  Participants will learn how our team torches, sorts, shears and bales metal to fulfil our role in the supply chain.  The big machinery dismantling steel powerfully is always the most interesting part of the tour and you will see that up close and in person.  We will also explain the tools needed to understand the metals market and up front formula pricing.
