Join us on June 15th to learn about PA’s Proposed Budget for 2023-2024 and its impact on business! Engage directly with the lawmakers at this Wake Up to the Issues event focused on YOUR questions and priorities for next year’s state budget.
On March 7th, Governor Josh Shapiro gave his first budget address stating his intention to make Pennsylvania “open for business.” Since entering office, he has created the PA Office of Transformation and Opportunity and the Economic Development Strategy Group, both of which serve to make Pennsylvania a leader in economic growth, job creation, and innovation. The 2023-2024 budget proposal is an opportunity to make these ideas a reality and make the Commonwealth an attractive place for business.
Priorities in the budget include investments in education, workforce development, public safety, mental health, environment, agriculture, supporting senior citizens, and improving our criminal justice system. There is also an emphasis on tax and permitting reform, including the continued reduction of the Corporate Net Income Tax (CNIT), tax credits for people earning teaching, nursing, or law enforcement certifications, and money back on permits that agencies take too long to process.
There will be an opportunity to give feedback on the state budget proposal and share your business priorities with the legislators. Come prepared with questions, comments, and an open mind!
